Countdown to the 13th edition of SiciliAmbiente Film Festival, which has always been an important national and international point of reference for cinema linked to the planet’s environmental issues, sustainable development, biodiversity and human rights. From July 18 to 24 in San Vito Lo Capo.

Among the guests of this edition will be the musician Roy Paci, talented and versatile testimonial of the Amnesty International Italia campaign, and always a firm supporter of the battles for human rights.

“For the XIII edition of SiciliAmbiente – explains Antonio Bellia, artistic director of the festival -“ I wanted to center the programming on the theme of climate change and on the dramatic environmental and social consequences for the people directly and indirectly involved. Obviously there will be films on topics that are always dear to us such as pollution, good practices, women’s rights, migratory processes, and gender and ethnic discrimination “- this year he continues – 36 films will be in competition distributed in 4 sections, and a large number of special events in collaboration with our partners: Aamod, Arpa Sicilia, Amnesty International Italia and Greenpeace Italia. I would also like to underline – he concludes – the meaning of the choice of our graphics this year: to be a sign of the definitive reopening of cinemas and theaters, whose closure represented not only a painful economic damage for the category, but a very serious cultural impoverishment for the entire population”.
