Biofilmografia / Biofilmography: Graduate in Sociology and Political Sciences from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and Complutense de Madrid (Spain). Diplomate of the “Institut Universitaire d’Etudes du Développement” of the University of Geneva (Switzerland). Since 1981 he lives in Central America. He has worked as a director, producer, screenwriter and editor for “Télévision Suisse Romande” (TSR), SRC (Canada), Radio Québec (Canada), Channel 4 (GB), TV3 (Barcelona), and his documentaries have been broadcasted by more than 30 channels. In 1986 he created Alba Films, and in 1994 he founded the “Fundación Luciérnaga” in Nicaragua, which broadcasts educational videos and compiles historical film archives.
Laurea in Sociologia e Scienze politiche all’Università di Losanna (Svizzera) e Complutense de Madrid (Spagna). Diplomato presso l'”Institut Universitaire d’Etudes du Développement” dell’Università di Ginevra (Svizzera). Dal 1981 vive in America Centrale. Ha lavorato come regista, produttore, sceneggiatore ed editore per “Télévision Suisse Romande” (TSR), SRC (Canada), Radio Québec (Canada), Channel 4 (GB), TV3 (Barcellona), e i suoi documentari sono stati trasmessi da oltre 30 canali. Nel 1986 ha creato Alba Films e nel 1994 ha fondato la “Fundación Luciérnaga” in Nicaragua, che trasmette video educativi e compila archivi storici di film.

Sono l’eredità degli antenati, ricchezza naturale e fonte di vita che li ha sostenuti per secoli. L’abbondanza di questi territori ha attratto l’ambizione di grandi aziende che in nome del progresso rapinano e minacciano coloro che si oppongono ai loro piani estrattivi ed espansivi. La costruzione di impianti idroelettrici chiamati energia pulita si unisce all’elenco delle industrie che distruggono e lasciano un segno nel cuore della resistenza della comunità. In Messico e in America Centrale ogni anno vengono uccisi tra i 50 e i 60 difensori ambientali per aver combattuto contro il saccheggio delle terre ancestrali delle loro comunità. Con la costruzione di centrali idroelettriche, anche i fiumi e l’acqua sono oggetto di espropriazione e hanno alimentato la violenza e la criminalizzazione.
Mountains, rivers, and land are sacred to the indigenous and peasant peoples of Mexico and Central America. They are the inheritance of the ancestors, natural wealth and source of life that has sustained them for centuries. The abundance of these territories has attracted the ambition of large companies that in the name of progress rob and threaten those who oppose their extractive and expansionary plans. The construction of hydroelectric plants called clean energy joins the list of industries that destroy and leave a mark that bleeds at the heart of community resistance. In Mexico and Central America every year between 50 and 60 environmental defenders are killed for fighting against the looting of the ancestral lands of their communities.
