SiciliAmbiente Film Festival announces the dates of the 13th edition which will take place from 18 to 24 July in San Vito Lo Capo. The 2020 edition, in compliance with the regulations in force regarding Covid-19, took place physically, and the hope is that this may also happen for the 2021 edition. The festival, directed by Antonio Bellia, with the organizational direction of Sheila Melosu , includes 4 competitive sections: an international documentary competition; an international fiction feature film competition, an international short film competition (fiction and documentary), and an international competition dedicated to animation. In addition to the cash prizes of each competitive section offered by Arpa Sicilia, the AAMOD Award, the “Human Rights” Award conferred by Amnesty International Italia and the “Environment” Award conferred by Greenpeace Italia will be awarded.

The following films can participate in the competition: environment, anthropology, human rights, biodiversity, war, integration, civil rights, sustainable development and the relationship between man and environment.

There is time until 30 April 2021 to register for the selection of the various competitive sections. The Earlybird rates will be active until 15 March 2021, while the regular rates will be active from 16 March to 30 April. Films of any nationality and lasting more than 30 minutes for documentaries, lasting more than 70 minutes for fictional films, lasting less than 31 minutes for short films and animations, completed after January 1, 2019, can participate in the selection. Consulting the announcement there are numerous prizes to be competed for the various sections.

SiciliAmbiente Film Festival in 2020 was realized thanks to the support of the Sicilian Region, Department of Tourism Sport and Entertainment, Department of Tourism Sport and Entertainment – Sicilia Film Commission, as part of the Sensi Contemporanei project and by MiBACT. It is promoted by the Municipality of San Vito Lo Capo, by Demetra Produzioni and the Cantiere 7 cultural association, with the collaboration of ARPA Sicilia, Amnesty International Italia, Greenpeace Italia and AAMOD.
