This year, the Festival will host a 3-day workshop entitled “Sound Spectrum”: a workshop about sound recording, editing, and listeninglogo Spettro Sonoro.

The goal is to learn about recording and listening to sounds and “musical” compositions through editing.
The premise of “Sound Spectrum” is that sound is not only a component of audiovisual narration, but it also possesses great and unexplored potential for storytelling.
The participants of “Sound Spectrum” will experiment, through the use of recorders and various types of microphones, sound-related activities such as field recording, reporting and interviewing, analyzing their narrative characteristics and their technical and descriptive perspectives.
The workshop aims to stimulate the technique and aesthetics of new models of sound narration, reflections on listening, on noise and on silence.
“Sound Spectrum” is for videomakers, musicians, and all those interested in learning a more in-depth approach to the complex and articulated use of sound in videos, sound compositions, theater performances, and installations.

The workshop will take place over a period of 3 days, for a total of 15 hours, and will produce an audio installation that will be presented at SiciliAmbiente 2017.

Dates: July 19, 20, 21 (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) from 9 am to 2 pm.
